Fairly entertaining. Jason Statham and Clive Owen were terrific in their roles. Story/script is so-so. But you watch it for the action anyway.
Tries to be Munich, but lacks the gravitas. Comes closer to Shoot 'Em Up, but lacks the fun. Thoroughly boring, cheesy and pointless.
Fair – Killer Elite (2011) 116 min. Half-decent action film all around that is based on a true story. The only reservation I had with this film is the complexity in following along with all the plot turns. The film should be simple enough but the myriad of characters dilutes the film’s effectiveness. By the end of the film, though enjoyable in the moment, I wasn’t left with much.
Fairly entertaining but nothing special.
The best film I've seen in the "assassin-genre - in a very long while! DeNiro's a bit of a waste... but Clive Owen and Jason Statham are terrific... and the subtext in which the main characters find themselves, beyond their intended targets, makes for some really thought provoking moments! It leaves you to wonder, since it's supposedly based on true incidents - just how much of it is really true - and if it is - it begs the question as to whether there really is a difference between the "good guys" and "bad guys" in the new international 'cold war' involving world rights to oil reserves!
No good guys...action, assassins, revenge, friendship, mayhem. Muddled at times, scattered other times, frenetic pace ... with weak character development. Who do you really root for? That's the point, probably. Holds interest but wish was tighter layout & script. Not fully satisfying, but check it out
I expected a better movie. It does it's job as an action movie. Various scenes of action and violence. The movie attempts tension and intrigue, but fails. The performances are flat and dialed in. I watched it to the end, but was disappointed overall.
